MEET OUR TEAM
KAT ARAUJO, FOUNDER + CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Kat is a Dominican-American multidisciplinary creative and the founder of Afternoon Culture. She comes from a family of entrepreneurs who imparted a spirit of hustle and making the impossible happen. She grew up in a really creative household in NYC, and started shooting film when she was just 10 years old. She left NYC for Baltimore to study Art History & Political Science at Johns Hopkins University. During this time she also completed graphic design coursework at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
Kat is a Teach For America Hawaii 2010 corps alum, and taught 3 years in the classroom. In 2013, she launched a multidisciplinary creative studio that focused on photography, design, and marketing. She left Hawaii in 2017 to be closer to family and to launch Afternoon Culture.
JENN JIRON, SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Jenn is a Nicaraguan-American graphic designer & illustrator with over 10 years of experience. She is a DC native who attended George Mason University for a BFA in Graphic Design. Jenn has designed for clients big and small including the Washington Post, Cleveland Clinic, and Bubbles for Hair.
Her passions are print and stationary design, and she expresses them through Waves in Color, her paper goods and illustration project. Her discerned eye for details makes her an exceptional creative problem solver. She is an avid traveler and she splits her time between DC and Hawaii. Jenn lives in the water and has recently taken up surfing.
ASHLYN STEWART, JUNIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Ashlyn is Texas-born graphic designer and a life long creative- as a third grader she entered a writing contest and instead of a short story, submitted the first three chapters of a novel (that has remained incomplete). She was drawn to graphic design in college because of the way it combined problem solving and beauty, something that stays at the root of her work today.
Ashlyn moved to New York in 2017 and has loved the energy and the vibrant design community of the city. In her free time she loves cooking, reading, and running ( and recently completed her first half marathon! ).
ALEX MCDOUGLE, COPYWRITER
Alex is an avid supporter of poetry, good whiskey, and #blackgirlmagic. She graduated with a BA in Anthropology and a minor in French from the University of Hawaii in 2015. In the past 4 years, she has worked as a grant writer for the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, an assistant on World War 2 archaeological excavations and a professional patron of New Orleans coffee shops.
Presently, Alex is based in NYC as the the copy writer and resident hype man for Afternoon Culture.
ROSANNA ANIL, PHOTOGRAPHER
Rosanna is a Brooklyn born foodie who's career began in the hospitality industry 9 years ago. Working in everything from restaurants and catering to social/corporate event firms. Her passion for food prevailed, blossoming into her own artistic form: Food Styling & Photography.
Known as the 'NYCFoodMuse', she's built a stellar reputation as a content creator and visual artist. In just 2 years Rosanna has worked with brands like Lipton, Walmart, Nestle, Kraft and Red Lobster. Shooting for apps like MealPal, DoorDash and UberEats propelled her photography to new heights. Connecting through food and art is a universal language of love and creativity.
DELILAH DELGADO, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INTERN
Delilah is a Junior at CUNY Baruch studying finance and economics. She is Bronx born and raised Puerto Rican looking to become a leading woman in the financial industry. Her drive and passion allows her to work in an organized, strategic, and diligent manner.
At the age of 20, Delilah has the true spirit of a hustler demonstrating commitment and dedication to success and results. Presently, Delilah serves as the Business Development Intern at Afternoon Culture. In her short time, she’s already become a valuable member of the team who helps Kat shape the vision and goals of the agency.
