MAKING BRANDS BEAUTIFUL
And that beauty usually starts with a strategy session in the afternoon over very strong coffee. Our approach is multidisciplinary and extremely collaborative. To be forward: we are type-a people who get sh*t done. We measure and tweak until we have results and our clients always leave with exceptional design, effective strategy, and new found clarity.

KAT ARAUJO, FOUNDER + CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Kat is a Dominican-American multidisciplinary creative and the founder of Afternoon Culture. She comes from a family of entrepreneurs who imparted a spirit of hustle and making the impossible happen. She grew up in a really creative household in NYC, and started shooting film when she was just 10 years old. She left NYC for Baltimore to study Art History & Political Science at Johns Hopkins University. During this time she also completed graphic design coursework at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
Kat is a Teach For America Hawaii 2010 corps alum, and taught 3 years in the classroom. In 2013, she launched a multidisciplinary creative studio that focused on photography, design, and marketing. She left Hawaii in 2017 to be closer to family and to launch Afternoon Culture.
JENN JIRON, SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Jenn is a Nicaraguan-American graphic designer & illustrator with over 10 years of experience. She is a DC native who attended George Mason University for a BFA in Graphic Design. Jenn has designed for clients big and small including the Washington Post, Cleveland Clinic, and Bubbles for Hair.
Her passions are print and stationary design, and she expresses them through Waves in Color, her paper goods and illustration project. Her discerned eye for details makes her an exceptional creative problem solver. She is an avid traveler and she splits her time between DC and Hawaii. Jenn lives in the water and has recently taken up surfing.
ASHLYN STEWART, JUNIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Ashlyn is Texas-born graphic designer and a life long creative- as a third grader she entered a writing contest and instead of a short story, submitted the first three chapters of a novel (that has remained incomplete). She was drawn to graphic design in college because of the way it combined problem solving and beauty, something that stays at the root of her work today.
Ashlyn moved to New York in 2017 and has loved the energy and the vibrant design community of the city. In her free time she loves cooking, reading, and running (and recently completed her first half marathon!)
